Biodegradable Cell Phone

What to do with old mobile phones?? In the UK alone 1,712 mobile phones are upgraded every hour (that’s nearly 15 million cellphones a year.) The London Science Museum opened a exhibit, Dead Ringers which amongst other things provides some cool recycling solutions. one phone, a prototype, contains a sun flower seed. When the phone has reached the end of its useful life, you simply take the cover off and plant it. The seed should then grow into a sunflower and will get extra nourishment from the biodegradable case which will completely break down within a month.

Soccer Ball Shaped MP3 Player

MP3s are somewhat rectangles. But in Singapore they have made a soccer ball shaped Shiro AS. There is 1GB of flash memory to go with a battery-conserving OLED display. The Shiro AS is said to provide 10 hours of juice. It’ll take your standard MP3 and WMA files, as well as having FM recording functionality. Cool Huh.
